The CARE4YOUTH methodology is developed through a collaborative, inclusive process, involving stakeholders from each project country. This methodology is designed to support young people in the care system, enhancing their personal and professional development through non-formal education and outdoor sports. The framework focuses on promoting social inclusion, employability, and emotional resilience.
Key Objectives
Co-Creation of the Methodology
A minimum of 20 stakeholder representatives, including youth beneficiaries and workers, actively participate in co-creating the methodology in each country. Their contributions help shape the structure and content, ensuring that the methodology reflects real challenges and needs.
Sports and Non- formal Education
The methodology integrates sports activities such as hiking, diving, and volleyball, along with non-formal learning sessions. These activities promote teamwork, leadership, and social inclusion, while simultaneously fostering skills such as problem-solving and communication.
Flexible Engagement Methods
The methodology allows partners to engage stakehold ers in several ways:
Focus Groups:
In-person discussions that foster interactive brainstorming and allow for in-depth exploration of ideas.
Online E-surveys:
Structured surveys provide flexibility, allowing stakeholders to contribute at their convenience, ensuring inclusivity.
Combined Approach:
Partners can combine both methods, organising activities in sports and leisure environments where discussions and survey responses take place.
Continuous Evaluation and Adaptation
The methodology undergoes continuous evaluation, ensuring that the feedback from youth and other stakeholders is incorporated to enhance its effectiveness and relevance.
Target Group
The primary beneficiaries of this methodology are young people in the care system, including those in foster care or alternative care settings. The approach also involves social workers, educators, and community members, ensuring a holistic and supportive environment.
Why It Matters
The CARE4YOUTH methodology empowers young people by giving them the skills and confidence needed to transition successfully into adulthood. By integrating sports and non-formal education, the methodology addresses both personal growth and professional development, fostering emotional intelligence and social connections that are vital for care leavers.
